EDC considerations

Being in the online Self Defense/weapons world, I have read
time and again countless EDC (every day carry) threads, where
people list or post pics of what they carry on their person everyday.

Now, I am not going to get sanctimonious, and berate people for
carrying excessive amounts of gear, but really, do you carry it
for a purpose other than the cool factor? Do you know how to use
what you carry, can you access it in enough time for it to make
a difference and be useful? I carry, by some peoples standards,
alot of gear, but you know what? It is all thought out, includes
emergency medical and survival items, that I know how to use.
Plus, yes, I carry weapons that compliment my style of fighting.

Just remember, only buy and carry things you know how to use, and don't
buy things because someone says it's cool, or the latest greatest.
EDC should and must be personal, not groupthink based, use your brain,
study what you may need, and make good choices.

It seems that no matter what, no matter the medium,
betrayal is still plaguing or times.
Not just once or twice, and not just online, but this week seems to
be full of it for me.
It is making me reconsider some things, some ideas I had that were
years old. It is also making me more careful of associations I might have.
Well, we'll see how it goes, and what shapes up from this.

What makes the difference?

What is it that makes a person succesful in surviving an attack?
It is not the art they study, the technique they used, or how long they
have studied. No, it is something far easier to understand, but the only thing that you can't learn from someone else.
It is simply the attitude to get it done, no matter what it takes, and go home.
The FIDO* attitude will carry you through when all else will fail you.

Do you have it?

*FIDO= Fuck It Drive On

Have you ever woken up.....

.... and realized the nightmare you were having was better than the world you
awoke to?
Yeah, me too.
